So you're thinking of a career in real estate? If you're new to the business we'll give you some advice that might help you narrow your search of companies to interview. If you're currently working at another company you probably are contemplating giving yourself a pay raise and heard that Wayne Lindquist & Associates Inc., Real Estate is one of the best paying companies in the Portland Metro area. When a prospective agent first passes the real estate exam they become inundated with literature from many real estate companies touting their training programs. There is nothing wrong with great training programs but how an agent is compensated and how to find buyers and sellers are also important. As an independent company, our agents don't pay any national franchise fees, transaction fees, monthly desk fees, voice messaging charges etc. This means when you make a sale you keep a majority of the commissions you earn. Agents new to real estate split the commissions they earn with our company on their first five sales while they are training. After five sales have been closed, new agents then move onto our 90-10 plan while keeping 90 percent of what they earn. Veteran agents wanting to net more of their commission dollars are compensated as follows: The first transaction closed after joining our company is split 50-50. Forty percent of the 50 percent coming to the company is applied to an annual $2700.00 office fee. Once the annual fee is paid agents move onto a 90-10 split with the agent receiving 90 percent of commission dollars and the company 10 percent. Once the company receives $8,500 in monies from agent sales and the agent has paid his/her $2700 annual fee, an agent receives for the remainder of their calendar year 100 percent of all commissions earned. In other words if you're having a great year you would be compensated by moving onto the 100 percent plan, but if you're not having a great year you're not stuck with outlandish fees that have to be paid out of pocket. Under our plan there is no risk of ever having to pay monthly fees. Imagine, no monthly desk fees and no transaction fees. All of this, plus, active selling principal brokers who have personally closed over 100 million dollars in property sales...and they're just a phone call, email or text away to answer questions and help when needed.
